EU Affairs Trainee

Technology Industries of Finland (TIF) is looking for an EU Affairs Trainee to support the work of our Brussels Office. This is a paid opportunity for a period of 6 months, starting in the autumn of 2025. EU affairs advocacy is one of the strategic priorities for our organisation. You would work from Brussels alongside TIF’s Head of EU Affairs, with a special focus on interest representation before the EU institutions.

TIF’s strong Public Affairs team currently consists of 5 public affairs and EU advocacy experts, most of whom are based in Finland. As part of this team, you would support our work to strategically plan and coordinate our advocacy efforts. During your time at TIF, you will get the opportunity to learn from highly skilled EU lobbyists and to directly participate in our EU lobbying activities. You will also be given the chance to engage in our work with the European Trade Associations that TIF is a member of. Profile of ideal candidate: 

  • Higher education degree in a relevant discipline (social sciences, political science, law, etc.).
  • Interest in working within the tech sector and sustainability and digitalisation policies. Ability to learn fast is important.
  • Pre-existing knowledge of EU affairs.  
  • Good organisational and project management skills. Experience in event organisation is an advantage.  
  • Team player and good interpersonal skills. 
  • Language skills: Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Finnish, Swedish, and/or French is an advantage. 
  • EU citizenship or eligibility to work in Belgium is required.

The tasks of the trainee, among other supportive tasks with the office, include:  

  • Support with EU monitoring work, EU advocacy, and event organisation 
  • Support the whole organisation in its EU advocacy
