Position Overview

ChargeUp Europe is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Officer to manage the creation of the third edition of the association’s flagship State of the Industry report. This key publication will provide insights into the current status and future trends of the EV charging sector, and your role will be critical in ensuring its successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Officer will:

  • Work closely with ChargeUp Europe’s secretariat as well as its management, policy and communications committees to lead and manage the entire process of creating the State of the Industry report, from planning to publication.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and industry experts to gather and analyze relevant data and information.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed project timeline, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and reviews related to the report’s production, and regular updates to the secretariat and committees on the project’s progress.
  • Liaise with an external graphic designer to coordinate the visuals and final layout of the report.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of the report’s content, including proofreading and fact-checking.
  • Assist the secretariat’s policy and communications teams on ad-hoc drafting and editing tasks as required.

The ideal candidate would bring:

  • 1-3 years of working experience in project management or research.
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within scope.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in written content and data accuracy.
  • Comfort in managing the inputs and opinions of a variety of stakeholders a plus
  • Native or native-level English proficiency, with strong written and verbal communication skills (any additional languages are an asset).
  • Sectoral experience in e-mobility or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Existing proficiency in project management tools and software is an advantage.

Policy Officer

E.DSO - European Distribution System Operators AISBL

The European Association of Distribution System Operators (E.DSO) is looking for a new Policy Officer to provide support and develop policy content for E.DSO Policy & Regulation Committee, notably in relation to Fit for 55 Package.

 

Purpose of the role

Reporting to the Policy Director, the Policy Officer will provide support and carry out the activities related to Policy & Regulation Committee. We are looking to recruit a talented Policy Officer with a sound knowledge of the EU institutions, its processes, and policies.

The candidate shall have gathered first public affairs experiences from working in or around the EU institutions, not-for-profit or private sector for about 2-3 years (energy related matters is preferable).

The candidate shall be interested in energy related issues, particularly on distribution system operators (DSOs). The Policy Officer will complement and support the current work of the policy team.

 

Key duties

  • Press and policy-monitoring of energy legislative developments
  • Drafting reports of internal and memberships’ meetings
  • Ad-hoc support in stakeholder engagement and coordination of internal working groups
  • Support in the organisation of policy internal and external events and meetings

 

Policy uptake and communication

  • Work closely with policy team and E.DSO members team, to develop policy briefs, communication and stakeholder engagement tools, policy position papers and statements
  • Participate in E.DSO expert groups and report to the Policy Director
  • Occasionally represent E.DSO’s positions and concerns to institutions, regulatory agencies, members and partners.

 

 Advocacy & lobbying

  • Focusing on monitoring EU regulatory developments and advising the Policy Director on the best advocacy strategy to support the E.DSO actions.
  •  Effective cooperation and coordination with relevant stakeholders, and by developing and leveraging working relationships with the EU Institutions.
  • Participation in a range of different meetings to actively promote E.DSO policy messages and positions.
  • Support the Policy Director on development of external advocacy tools and publications, including position papers, as well as internal-external communication materials.
  • Support the policy team on the advocacy outreach and lobbying campaigns.

 

 Required skills, knowledge and experience

  • Master degree (preferably in the energy or environmental issues)
  • A minimum of 3 years post-degree experience (preferably in an association, energy industry or
  • Good understanding of the EU regulatory processes
  • Good communications, organisational and networking skills
  • Confidence in interacting with colleagues, other NGOs, industry and authorities
  • Experience in using online communication tools
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently and as part of a team
  • Be a quick learner and motivated to go deeper into issues in view of finding solutions

Energy Storage Policy Traineeship

Position summary

The Energy Storage Policy Trainee will support the work of the policy team for EASE – The European Association for Storage of Energy. With over 70 members from around Europe, EASE serves as the voice of the energy storage community. Its mission is to promote the deployment of energy storage in Europe in order to achieve a decarbonised energy system by 2050. This internship in the EASE policy team offers a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience in European Union (EU) affairs, energy, and environment issues. Besides learning about energy storage and the energy sector, the trainee will gain insight into association management and will have the chance to work in a dynamic and international team.

 

Main Responsibilities:

• Conducting comparative research on EU and Member State policies and regulation in the energy sector;
• Monitoring the latest European news/activities related to EU energy, research and innovation (R&I), climate change, and environment policies;
• Supporting the EASE policy team in the drafting of position papers, press releases, and presentations;
• Preparing for and participating in conferences, workshops, and networking events gathering key EU policymakers and stakeholders;
• Assisting with internal committee meetings and teleconferences; supporting the organisation of EASE Task Forces and Working Groups;
• Supporting the EASE team in its day-to-day operations;
• Performing various administrative tasks.

 

Requirements and competencies:

• Strong interest in the EU energy sector;
• University or advanced degree, preferably in the field of Engineering or Social Sciences (Political Science, International Relations, EU Studies, Law);
• Fluency in English (English is the working language of the office; other languages are a plus);
• Knowledge of EU institutions and their workings;
• Ability to take initiative and independently plan to meet deadlines;
• Positive attitude, flexible, team player, sense of humour.

We offer a traineeship for a period of 6 months in a stimulating and dynamic international environment. A limited reimbursement will be granted. Candidates must be eligible for a Convention D’immersion Professionnelle (CIP).

Public Affairs Manager

About the Role

By reporting directly to the Managing Director, Public Affairs Manager will be:

  • Leading on the development, coordination and implementation of CEPE’s advocacy and public affairs strategy
  • Monitoring a number of relevant policy and regulatory topics, including issues surrounding circularity, green claims, biocides and micro-plastics, but also e.g. the CLP/ REACH revisions, ESPR and other related files
  • Engaging with CEPE’s members and leading the association’s internal Public Affairs Working Group
  • Working closely with the Regulatory Affairs team and the Communications Manager with campaigning and developing social media and other strategies
  • Maintaining effective relations and expanding CEPE’s network among representatives of the EU institutions and other key policy stakeholders in the region
  • Liaising with CEPE members (companies and National Associations) and other trade associations/partner organisations such as fellow DUCC (Downstream Users of Chemicals Co-ordination) Group members and other stakeholders
  • Organising and executing events, meetings and representing CEPE in a relevant public scene that increase CEPE’s visibility among EU decision-makers

 

About the Required Experience

  • Preferably university degree in Political Sciences, Communications or Science background with any other relevant degree to be considered
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience within an EU public affairs and/or communications environment (e.g. EU industry associations, consultancies, NGOs or similar)
  • A strong interest in working on circularity, sustainability, and chemical industry related topics
  • Commercial drive to use public affairs and communication skills to grow CEPE’s public image
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and diplomatic attitude to take initiatives with a flexible mindset
  • Able to work alone and as a part of the team
  • Good understanding of EU legislation processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/people skills in English (native/near-native) and knowledge of other EU languages to be considered a plus
  • Ability to interact complex ideas and issues effectively and translate them into everyday language to engage with various industry leaders internally and externally.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading Wolt’s EU Public Policy work on digital policy, platform regulation
  • Engage with EU policy makers at all levels and brief, prep, and advice Wolt leadership on all EU policy matters
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on our business
  • Coordinate with other teams internally (in particular legal and comms), align with relevant global teams, and feed into internal strategy processes
